The two best parks in the Rift, back to back
This is the classic Kenyan Rift Valley circuit and the itinerary we recommend to first-time visitors with a week to spend. You get three nights in the Mara for serious big cat time, a full day in Lake Nakuru, and a relaxed final night at Naivasha.
The driving between parks is scenic rather than punishing, with the Rift Valley escarpment viewpoint on the Nairobi-Naivasha road as a stop.
Upgrades to luxury camps and a fly-in return from the Mara are both available.
Depart early through the Rift Valley escarpment with a viewpoint stop. Arrive in the Mara for lunch, then an afternoon game drive to get oriented in the reserve.
